What We Do

Cunniff Design provides the full suite of architectural services, from masterplanning and urban design, through feasibility and planning design to technical and site delivery. We also undertake fit out and interior design work and can provide a wide range of services associated with our use of Autodesk suite within a BIM environment. This includes site mapping and topography, visualisation and CGI, clash detection, 4D mapping and information for buildings in use.

All our work begins with a sketch, putting pencil to paper to communicate initial ideas. We believe passionately in the power of communication through sketches, presentation work and visualisations and can provide a variety of methods and styles to suit the project stage..

Our People

Cunniff Design aims to bring together passionate, hard working people who can deliver a great service for our clients. Project journeys often last many months and years and so the social and personal aspects of team work are valued highly – we aim to foster an open and creative work environment in which all can grow and flourish. We work best as a team and have a great combination of overlapping skills and experience to bring to bear for our projects.

We also aim to strengthen the team outside the office by attending events and celebrating our successes together as a team. We are only as strong as the combination of our individual parts and our team members mean everything to our success.

Our Approach

All our work is predicated on collaboration and the collective journey which we undertake with our client and consultant teams. Within our team we promote an open and collaborative culture and regularly pin-up and critique each other’s work to ensure that the highest quality outputs are produced. We also openly seek feedback from clients to ensure all lessons learnt are taken on board – ultimately, we wish to forge long term relationships with clients and colleagues and believe an open approach is always best.

We also encourage a passion for architecture, design and the built environment. We undertake informal building visits, field trips and regularly share anything of interest within the team to foster an enthusiastic and informed approach to the work we undertake.

Our Communities

We believe in playing an active role in the communities that we live and work in, as a way of enriching our own practice as well as aiming to contribute.

In Leeds we are members of the Leeds Civic Trust and Leeds Society of Architects and regularly attend talks and seminars by Built Environment Networking and Forum for the Built Environment.

Our staff also have the opportunity to take ‘charity days’ each year, where they take a day’s paid leave to undertake voluntary work in the community.

Cunniff Design sponsors Wakefield Trinity Community Trust who use sport to support disadvantaged children and adults in the community, such as through Physical Disability & Learning Disability Rugby League. We also support grassroots Rugby Union in North Leeds.
