This proposed extension to an existing historic property was designed to create a sprawling bungalow creating private and public wings as well as private courtyards and garden spaces. The original property dates to the 1800s with some modest but unsympathetic additions in the 1900s. The design aims to take the best of the original cottage and use of local materials to create a new, coherent property, using reclaimed brick, green oak cladding, and slate roofs. The interiors within are to be modest but modern wall lit spaces that flow in a sequence from arrival through to the public side of the house.
