The greenest building is one that is already built, goes the saying. We believe that existing structures should always be considered for re-use as a matter of principle as the most sustainable, low carbon solution.
Often existing buildings have heritage interest or importance, and may be classed as statutory listed (e.g. Grade II, II* or 1) or non-designated heritage assets. Working with a building's character and features - rather than against them - can result in its successful re-invention, giving the building a new lease of life for generations to come.
